Man United have made their decision on Amad Diallo, with the youngster set to be involved for the Reds this upcoming season.
Manchester United’s squad could look rather different at the start of the new campaign. INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe aren’t messing around. They’re more than willing to let players walk. Just ask Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane.
However, one man who is finally set for his chance is Amad. We covered a claim on that front just yesterday, with the winger viewed as an ‘integral’ member of the squad.
Now, Football Insider have given their take on Amad’s future – and it follows the emerging pattern.
According to their information, the United starlet is ‘set to stay’ at the club and feature in Erik ten Hag’s plans for the 2024/25 season.
Amad does just have one year left to run on his current contract, though the club hold the option to extend that by a further year. It is believed the Ivory Coast international will be given the chance to play for a completely new contract over the course of the upcoming season.
The winger is yet to be given a proper run in the side, since arriving from Atalanta a few years ago as a young teenager. His 2023/24 term was majorly disrupted due to injury, though he did end the campaign strongly with some excellent performances.
Both player and club are said to be ‘happy’ with the current plan for Amad, who is hoping to prove his worth and make a real name for himself at the Theatre of Dreams.
Right-wing is still a problem area for the Red Devils, so there’s a genuine chance that Amad makes that spot his own. Antony struggled this term. Jadon Sancho is no longer here. Alejandro Garnacho is better off the left. Unless a big-money signing is made in that position, United’s number sixteen will be given opportunities.
