This weekend, Manchester United showed that there is still some fight in there. In the big moments, on the main stage, these Red Devils tend to prove that they’re good enough more often than not.
The problem comes in games they’re expected to win. Teams come to Old Trafford and sit back and this United setup just doesn’t have enough quality to carve out chances. When teams, like Liverpool, come and attack us, United can certainly hold their own.
Yesterday’s game was the case-in-point. United went toe-to-toe with the league leaders and in the end, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s boys were unlucky not to scoop all three points.
In the aftermath, several United stars have taken to Twitter to send positive message to the fans – and they have every reason to be pleased with the overall performance.
As the old saying goes, actions speak louder than words. It’s now about kicking on from here and really sending out a message of defiance. Between now and the new year, the games will start to come thick and fast and this is the all-important time to pick up points and get on a good run.
The lads seem as though they’ve been given a new lease of life and now it’s up to us fans to get fully behind them.
