Man United are eyeing a potential move for AS Monaco midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni.
It goes without saying that Paul Pogba’s time at Manchester United has been mixed over the last five-and-a-half years. The Frenchman has shown glimpses of his individual brilliance, but sadly, frustration has been on display in equal measure.
Against Atalanta, it looked like Pogba didn’t have a care in the world. The fans noticed that. They’re starting to lose patience.
Now, it looks like Pogba is going to depart on a free transfer next summer, which seems to be the best thing to happen at this moment in time. United, though, have to identify and sign a replacement as he will leave a void within this current midfield.
Well, according to Football Insider, Aurelien Tchouameni is that man. According to the report, United are stepping up their interest in the Frenchman.
United sent scouts to watch the midfielder a couple of weeks ago, while they’ll also be present to watch the 21-year-old in action tonight as Monaco play PSV.
It’s claimed that Tchouameni is viewed as the replacement for Pogba, with United ready to make a deal happen if the midfielder continues to impress our scouts.
The 21-year-old is already a mainstay within the France squad, which tells you everything you need to know about his talents, with Tchouameni viewed as someone who can improve our midfield from day one.
No doubt they’ll be other interested parties in Tchouameni, as players with his ability don’t come around very often. Perhaps United could try get a jumpstart on the competition and potentially find a way to bring him in during the January transfer window? Sure, that’s easier said than done but money always talks.
