Man United still expect paul Pogba to leave this summer: report

Man United are still expecting Paul Pogba to depart from Old Trafford this summer.

Over the last half-decade, Manchester United have undoubtedly seen both the best and worst of Paul Pogba – on and off the field.

The Frenchman has produced moments of brilliant in abundance, though there have also been some long periods of truly dreadful performances. Off the turf, he’s been his usual, happy-go-lucky self, though we cannot forget about the constant flirting with every other European giant…

This summer Pogba is out of contract. As things stand, he’s already free to talk to overseas clubs about the possibility of signing a pre-contract agreement elsewhere.

Recently, there have been whispers suggesting Pogba could yet stay. Well, the Manchester Evening News have since quashed those rumours.

Apparently, United are ‘still planning’ for the star to leave this summer. No doubt they’re already looking at potential players who can replace the World Cup winner.

The MEN also add that there is still ‘no inclination’ that he’ll commit to a new deal with the Reds.

That said, it’s also written that Pogba has held productive discussions with Ralf Rangnick about United, with the number six believed to be ‘more upbeat’ about his time here in Manchester.

It’s an odd situation. Most fans think he’s brilliant, but they’ve also accepted the fact that he’s probably leaving this summer. Honestly, I don’t think it’s the worst idea to let him leave.

If he stays, United will be held hostage to give him a mega-money contract, which will probably be the last major deal of his career. With clubs still reeling after Covid-19, I honestly don’t think they’ll be many teams out there willing to pay Pogba handsomely for his services.

That said, if I were United, I’d approach this one with caution.
