Man United ‘still exploring’ Benjamin Sesko deal

Man United still have eyes on RB Salzburg striker, Benjamin Sesko.

With Cristiano Ronaldo’s future still up in the air and Manchester United looking a little light in the final third, it makes sense to see the Red Devils look at potential signings in that area of the field.

Erik ten Hag has made a positive early impression during pre-season, though he needs to be helped out by the powers that be. We’re now a week away from the season proper. No signings feel close.

Well recently, United have been linked with a move to sign little-known striker, Benjamin Sesko. The young Slovenian currently plies his trade in Austria for RB Salzburg.

The latest update in this saga comes from Fabrizio Romano, who took to Twitter yesterday evening to share his latest information.

Apparently, the Reds are ‘still exploring’ a deal to sign Sesko, though no official bid has been made yet. However, talks with the player have continued over the last few days.

The 19-year-old is ‘definitely’ on United’s list, according to Romano. Though Salzburg’s plan has always been to sell the striker next summer, rather than this time around.

If Sesko’s pre-season game against Liverpool is anything to go by, this young man can absolutely play at the highest level. He performed with maturity beyond his years, took his goal really nicely and even brought out some tricks and flicks.

What’s most appealing about this transfer is the longevity Sesko would bring if all goes well. He’s someone who has the potential to lead the line at a top club for the next decade.

In an ideal world, Sesko is signed this summer and given a year to sit in behind and learn from Ronaldo, with a view to making that starting job his own in twelve months’ time.

It does feel like a tricky transfer to get over the line during this window, though.

Do you think Benjamin Sesko would be a good signing for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
