A Man United transfer move for Adama Traore may well still happen, though the Red Devils won’t have it all their own way…
It was common knowledge that signing a winger over the summer was amongst the top priorities. A failed attempt at signing Jadon Sancho was the biggest indicator of that.
In the end, the Red Devils would have to settle for two young wide-men; Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore.
However, United’s interest in another Traore is still there, with Wolves’ Adama still on the radar…
Apparently, United still have the £90m-rated 24-year-old in their sights, but they’ll face some heavy competition to acquire the rapid winger who is enjoying life with Wolves.
United are said to be ‘looking at options’ to bolster their attack, with Traore’s insane dribbling ability and speed his biggest selling points.
So who are the other interested parties?
Well, Calciomercato say that Juventus are now out of the race to sign Traore. However, Barcelona, City and Liverpool are all still keen on him…
The stiff interest definitely explains the hefty price-tag. With Wolves holding all the power in negotiations, should they decide to cash in on Traore.
Despite his best ever season in terms of numbers in 2019/20, Traore has found playing time harder to come by this term. The arrivals of both Nelson Semedo and Daniel Podence have meant that the winger has been used as an impact player off the bench.
Would a United move make sense?
Traore is someone who can slot in and out of the team. Although for £90million, United would undoubtedly be looking for a regular starter. At that price-range, you’d imagine Sancho remains the number one target.
You do wonder as to whether the Sancho ship has sailed already, though…
