Man United are still looking to add another forward to the playing squad this month – though it’ll be a loan.
Manchester United Football Club have added two players to the dressing room this month; Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst.
Both signings were brought in on loan deals, largely due to the lack of funds available with a Glazer sale imminent. Hopefully, that changes when the summer rolls around, though for now, United have to work with what’s available.
Erik ten Hag is always on the hunt for potential additions to the squad, though only if the right player becomes available. The Dutchman is consistently looking for improvement.
After the Weghorst deal was sealed, we all just assumed that no more new faces would come through the door this month. Well, that may not be entirely accurate.
According to the Daily Mail, United are ‘still looking’ to add another forward on loan this month.
United have been linked with numerous attackers, including Cody Gakpo and Joao Felix. Both of whom have since headed elsewhere.
No standout names are mentioned in the Daily Mail article, though the club are still looking at a deal that’d have a small loan fee due to the lack of funds readily available.
Any move could also be dependent on what happens to young players like Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri. Both of whom are on the fringes of the first-team right now, being drip-fed minutes, rather than playing a major role.
Right now, Ten Hag is reluctant to let any young players leave, as the squad is already somewhat thin in the final third. One injury and these guys could find themselves thrust into action.
