Man United still struggling with Luke Shaw injury concern as left-back continues to miss training

Luke Shaw continues to remain absent for both club and country, with the Englishman not yet in training.

Manchester United’s season was defined by the sheer amount of injuries suffered. Erik ten Hag was effectively working with one hand tied behind his back.

The United gaffer was missing several key players for prolonged periods of the campaign, which made it infinitely harder to secure positive results with regularity.

Among the players injured for months at a time is Luke Shaw. The left-back missed the back end of the campaign with treatment table issues, though was still selected for England duty at the European Championships.

It felt like the general consensus was Shaw was ramping up his training ahead of potentially running out for his country in the group stages. That now looks unlikely…

According to Sky Sports News, the player is still struggling with an injury, as he missed training today, meaning it’s highly unlikely he’ll be involved against Denmark tomorrow. This also leaves United sweating on the fitness of the left-back, with pre-season set to start next month.

Check out Sky Sports News’ X post on Shaw here:

This is exactly why United could do with bringing in a decent left-back this summer. I understand that there are several other holes in the squad that need filling, but it’d be suicide going into the campaign without a fit left-sided defender.

Shaw will always pick up injuries. That’s just the nature of the situation. We have Tyrell Malacia but he hasn’t been fit for over a year now. Who knows what he’s going to look like upon his eventual return?

It’s a very precarious situation.
