Man United struggling to sell Alexis Sanchez this summer: report

Manchester United made a massive mistake in handing huge wages to Alexis Sanchez when he made the move from London to Old Trafford. In hindsight, the move wouldn’t have been made.

It comes as no surprise to hear that, according to The Mirror, the Red Devils are struggling to offload Sanchez this summer. Apparently, only two enquiries have been made in regards to their 30-year-old Chilean, neither came with a substantial fee.

Sanchez could be ‘forced’ to stay at the Theatre of Dreams next season as a result, despite the fact that the Reds want to push through an exit for their #7. They’re also prepared to fund some of the player’s salary should he move, in the hope that it will attract some interest in the attacker.

For the club, they’ve made their own bed with this one. Sanchez has had nothing but a negative affect on United during his eighteen-month spell there – and I just don’t see how they’re going to get rid of him.

He’s contracted until 2022 so the club still have three years left of Sanchez and the only way I see a deal happening is if the player takes a monumental wage cut – but why would he do that?

The only scenario I see playing out is that Sanchez heads on a few loan deals from now until the end of his deal, with United paying the majority of his wages, then just letting him walk for free when his contract eventually expires. It’s going to be a painful few seasons, though, with his burden weighing heavily on The Glazers’ pockets…
