Manchester United begin their FA Cup campaign this weekend, with a home game against Championship side Reading in the offing.
The game itself should be a routine one for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, however, it looks as though a key superstar could well be missing through injury.
According to Sky Sports News, Paul Pogba could miss the game with an injury he picked up in the match against Newcastle United; presumably during the ‘challenge’ from Jonjo Shelvey midway through the second half, which the Frenchman was left understandably frustrated at.
It really was a potentially leg-breaking challenge with no intent to win the ball whatsoever, and quite frankly, it’s disgusting that Shelvey wasn’t even booked for the incident.
We’re unsure as to the severity of the problem, but the fact that he’s only a doubt and hasn’t been ruled completely out leads me to believe that the problem isn’t too serious, which is good news given that a tough away game against Tottenham Hotspur is just on the horizon.
Personally, I think Pogba shouldn’t be risked if he isn’t 100%. We should have more than enough firepower to beat Reading, and the week off would do him the world of good.
