Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is currently at loggerheads with arguably his most talented player, Paul Pogba.
The club are winless in four. Negativity is setting in. The manager is losing the dressing room.
Mourinho is seemingly doing what he can to try and take back control, though. Following United’s 0-0 draw at home to Valencia on Tuesday evening, Pogba was stopped for questioning by the media. The 25-year-old admitted that he’s no longer permitted to speak to the media…
“I’ve been told I’m not allowed [to talk].” The Independent quote Pogba as saying.
I don’t think Pogba can have any complaints, to be honest. Every time he’s allowed to speak, all he does is put his foot further in it. Coming out and saying that United should be attacking more is never going to play well with the manager and coaching staff. So why bother?
I love the footballer, when he’s on song, there aren’t many better midfielders in the game. The only problem is that it seems as though he has completely given up on playing for Mourinho. Sure, the football may not be the most exciting, nor are the tactics all-out attack, but you cannot give up under any circumstances.
Unfortunately for Mourinho, player power is as prominent as it ever has been. It’s a battle that I think Pogba will ultimately win, but if I had it my way, he’d be on his way out of Old Trafford too…
