Man United superstar opens door to potential Old Trafford exit: report

It certainly feels as though the writing is on the wall for Luke Shaw at Manchester United.

Now, the Daily Mail reckons that the 22-year-old left-back has opened the door to an Old Trafford exit – and a reunion with Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino.

The pair previously worked together at Southampton, before the England international linked up with Louis van Gaal at the Theatre of Dreams. It’s fair to say that his time at United hasn’t been great, and perhaps it’s best for everyone involved if he did decide to leave.

Shaw had no pre-season whatsoever due to injury but returned early on in the campaign. He’s been back for a while now, but the only two matches he’s played in has come in the Carabao Cup – both of which were cameo substitute appearances late on in the game.

Personally, I just don’t think that Jose Mourinho likes Shaw as a player, and once the self-proclaimed Special One has made his mind up, you’ll have a hard time changing that view.

I think it’s time to move him on. We cannot rely on Shaw any longer, and we could use the transfer money to bring in a suitable replacement.
