Man United may have to play the Carabao Cup final without their man of the moment, Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United Football Club progressed into the Carabao Cup last sixteen on Thursday night, beating FC Barcelona in front of a packed out Old Trafford.
The game itself was an entertaining affair, with United more than deserving of the victory over the two legs. The game, seemingly didn’t come without problems, with Marcus Rashford substituted late on with an apparent injury.
Rashy didn’t seem to be walking too freely off the field, then again when he was heading out of the stadium. Now, our fears have been confirmed. The Englishman is doubtful for the Carabao Cup final…
Erik ten Hag confirmed that Rashford’s availability is up in the air at this point, with medical checks set to be done. United are now sweating on the fitness of their key star for Sunday’s game…

“I don’t know.” The boss responded, when asked if Rashford will be available, per ManUtd.com.
“Players are now coming in [to Carrington], we have to do investigations, medical [checks]. Straight after a game you can’t say, you have to wait for medical [checks].”
Sadly, this would be a huge loss. Rashford’s spectacular form has propelled United to where they are in the table, while also ensuring the Reds are still in all the cup competitions.
Losing him for any sort of period would be a major blow, particularly with the 25-year-old playing at such an elite level right now.
More than anything, I’d be gutted for Rashy. He deserves to play in this cup final, probably more than any other United player, but that’s just the nature of the beast, sadly.
If the worst is confirmed and Rashford isn’t available, we have to trust Ten Hag to devise a game plan that can overcome a Newcastle side that will be tough to beat.
