Man United target, Darwin Nunez, has sights set on Premier League

Man United have been handed a lift in their apparent pursuit of Darwin Nunez, with the forward wanting a move to English shores.

With Edinson Cavani leaving, Marcus Rashford struggling and Anthony Martial’s future up in the air, there’s no doubt that Manchester United need to sign a new striker this summer.

Erik ten Hag will no doubt have big plans for Cristiano Ronaldo, though the Portgual international simply cannot do it all on his own. Enter, Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan has apparently been on United’s radar for a little while now

Well, United’s pursuit of the star who has scored 34 goals this season has just been boosted. That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who believe that Nunez has his sights set on the Premier League.

The Red Devils are almost certainly looking for a number nine, while Nunez’s advisers believe his style could be well suited to English football. On top of that, the Old Trafford club have been ‘monitoring the developments’ of Nunez, 22.

As of yet, nobody has come close to SL Benfica’s valuation of Nunez, who has a £130million release clause in his contract. The Mirror adds that a figure of around £70million is far more achievable, though.

Nunez is attracting major interest from all across Europe and United will not have it all their own way. There is another possible hurdle the Red Devils will have to overcome, though, with Nunez looking to move to a club with Champions League football on offer.

I guess it’s now dependent on other clubs passing up the opportunity to sign Nunez, coupled with United making him a sizable offer in terms of weekly wages. No doubt his agents will have to be paid handsomely, too…

Perhaps his countryman Cavani will put in a good word for United also!
