Summer Manchester United target Jack Grealish has left Red Devils fans impressed, and disappointed, that an Old Trafford transfer didn’t happen over the summer.
Manchester United tried to target Grealish for a move over the summer, though in the end, the Red Devils decided against it. Apparently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had concerns about where the Aston Villa man would fit in. Since then, though, Grealish has only improved.
The linked article above actually claims that United could reignite their interest in Grealish and rightly so, too. The Englishman has been in impeccable form this term, earning plaudits from every direction.
Last night, Grealish would be handed a rare opportunity to start for England in a crunch UEFA Nations League game against Belgium. Although the Three Lions would lose the game 2-0, Grealish was simply outstanding.
Winning fouls, making dangerous runs, playing nice balls in behind the lines and generally trying to make things happen. He was the best player on the pitch on a field jam-packed with stars.
As you’d imagine, that had the United fans talking again. Many were rueing the decision not to sign Grealish over the summer, while the others were looking forward at the possible opportunity to sign him next summer.
I don’t like to blow my own trumpet but I was gutted when we didn’t move for Grealish over the summer. We’re talking about someone who has been the heartbeat of that Villa team for years, while he can also play in multiple positions, offering United versatility.
At this stage, I’d much rather have Grealish in this side over Paul Pogba, though right now, Grealish would probably cost more than we’d be able to sell Pogba for!
For now, I’ll leave you with Reds fans foaming at the mouth after the reported United transfer target put in an absolutely top display for England vs Belgium.
