Simply put, it’s all a tad confusing, though both are brilliant players and either would improve our squad endlessly. However, the reported United transfer target Maddison has dealt the Reds a blow, by admitting he’s staying at Leicester (although no timeframe was specified)…
“Of course I am (staying),” Maddison said when asked by a fan if he’s staying with Leicester in the call shown on BT Sport ‘s Twitter account.
“It was one of the best decisions I’ve made, coming here. I love it.”
Perhaps he’s been told that United have other plans (aka Grealish?) or maybe Maddison has taken this time to reflect upon just how good Leicester has been for him.
Sure, it’s hard to take from a United standpoint but you have to respect his decision. Although it’s harder to follow through with those comments if the Reds do firm up their move with an official bid, you have to admire his commitment to the Leicester City cause.
What I’ve always admired Maddison for is his personality and loyalty. He’s a down to earth bloke who understands that he wouldn’t be where he is now without the Foxes and who knows, perhaps this move could well happen in the future – just not right now it seems…
