Man United-defender, Matthijs de Ligt, is growing frustrated with his situation at Bayern Munich.
Manchester United made a move to sign Leny Yoro from Lille last week, in somewhat unexpected circumstances, snatching the Frenchman from under Real Madrid’s nose.
The assumption was that United were no longer going to sanction a move to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich, though it appears the Reds are still keen on bringing in the Dutchman too.
HITC have provided the latest update on that front, claiming that talks are still ongoing over the signing of the centre-back, though the deal has not progressed as expected.
On top of that, it’s stated that the United transfer target is growing ‘increasingly agitated’ at Bayern Munich.
United and Bayern remain locked in talks as they try to agree on a fee for De Ligt, though the defender is not happy with the German clubs’ valuation at this point in time.
United are said to have offered around £30m to sign De Ligt, while they’re ready to make another offer of around £34m. However, that’s still not close to Bayern’s asking price, which would have to come down ‘significantly’ for the two sides to agree on a fee.
This feels like a saga that could drag on for the remainder of the window. Both sides seem to have very different valuations of the Dutchman and if United are deadly serious about not overpaying for signings this summer, then this deal could end up being a non-starter.

Time for United to pursue other centre back targets; an offer of €40,million for Gonçalo Inacio would possibly be accepted and he, being a left footed player would be ideal cover for the seemingly injury prone Martinez, leaving Maguire as cover (for one more year) for Leny Yoro
