Man United transfer target, Nikola Milenkovic, seems likelier than ever to be on his way to England this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to find a centre-back partner for Harry Maguire this summer. That much feels obvious. Almost-daily links to new defenders definitely back up that point, with one name cropping up more than most; Nikola Milenkovic.
The Serb, who currently plies his trade for AFC Fiorentina, is impressing in the Serie A this term as his stock continues to grow. With a contract that expires in 2022, perhaps Fiorentina will be powerless this summer, as they may well be forced into parting with their prized asset.
Apparently, the long-term United target is set for a Premier League switch this summer ‘barring any surprises’, while once again, the Reds are named as a potential suitor for the 23-year-old.
Check out the article spread on Milenkovic here (in Italian):
For the Reds, there’s even more good news. After some poor performances for his country during the international break, La Viola are unlikely to ask for more than the €35m (£30m) that they’re currently asking for.
In today’s market, that’s an absolute steal for someone who could potentially be your centre-half for the next decade.
Sure, there are no guarantees in football but this looks like a move that’d make sense for all involved. Milenkovic has all the attributes of someone who could potentially complement Maguire perfectly.
In our opinion, this is certainly one to keep an eye on as we edge closer to the summer transfer window. I do think this one has plenty of truth in it, too…
