Manchester United Football Club need a big summer transfer window – in terms of both incomings and outgoings.
Amongst the topic of discussion is Paul Pogba’s future. Who knows whether the world-class Frenchman will stay or go?
Anyway, it seems as though United are potentially planning for life without the 26-year-old, or so it would seem from a recent story ran by The Independent.
They say that the Reds have identified the classy 22-year-old, Youri Tielemans, as a possible replacement should Pogba leave.
Tielemans is currently owned by AS Monaco, although he spent the second half of last season on loan with Leicester City – where he massively impressed.
The report does add that Tielemans isn’t a ‘top choice’ but he is being considered by United chiefs should Pogba depart.
In terms of Pogba, he wants to be competing for the biggest trophies in the world. At this point in time, it’s pretty obvious United simply cannot offer him that…
For what it’s worth, I feel United could do a whole lot worse than Tielemans. He’s a brilliant, well-rounded midfielder and he’s only going to get better as he matures.
Although no transfer fee is mentioned, you’d imagine that due to his unhappiness at the Principality club, I’d figure that somewhere around the £30million mark should get the deal done.
