Man United to allow Matteo Darmian to leave, Juve & Valencia keen: report

Manchester United have been constantly linked with a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, with ESPN giving us the latest update on the saga last night.

In all honesty, they don’t really cover anything new – claiming that United are still in talks with Crystal Palace in regards to signing the 21-year-old.

What we found interesting about ESPN’s piece is that they claim 29-year-old Matteo Darmian will (finally) be allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer – in order to make room for a new right-back signing.

Furthermore, both Juventus and Valencia have registered interest in signing the Italian, who has had a torrid few years at the Theatre of Dreams.

It feels as though Darmian has been linked with an exit in each of the last three or four transfer windows yet nothing has come to fruition.

After a positive start for Darmian at United, it all went downhill after an absolute horror show in a game against Arsenal. Ironically, it was Alexis Sanchez who did the damage.

I’m just surprised that a European giant like Juventus is interested in taking Darmian off our hands as I’m not sure what he has shown over the last year or so to prove he’s worth acquiring.

Anyway, I’d be surprised if the Reds recoup anything close to the £12million that they paid to sign him, but it would be good to get him off the books – paving the way for a move to bring a player like Wan-Bissaka in…
