Manchester United’s Eric Bailly has turned into somewhat of the forgotten man at Old Trafford over the last year or so.
The Ivorian, who is now 25, has been suffering from a series of injuries that have kept him sidelined. When he has played, it looks as though his confidence has gone and shortly after, Bailly found himself back on the treatment table.
His season was summed up perfectly by getting injured on his comeback towards the end of the 2018/19 campaign – however, the Red Devils haven’t given up hope yet…
According to ESPN, United are ‘hopeful’ that Bailly will be fit to fly out for Australia for pre-season tour – as the club look to give the centre-half a chance to fight for his place within the squad.
I love Bailly, I think he’s a cracking defender. An argument can be made for him in regards to being our best centre-half, which tells you everything you need to know about the state of this squad at the moment.
The Ivory Coast international will miss the upcoming African Cup of Nations, but hopefully, he can rest up and get himself fit and ready to go when the squad jet off to Australia in July.
