Man United to give struggling Alexis Sanchez another chance to prove himself: report

Manchester United Football Club have somewhat drifted away from the mantra which has worked so well for them in recent years. Instead, the Red Devils have looked towards marquee signings in the hope of a quick-fix. Sadly, that hasn’t really helped the Old Trafford outfit.

Amongst those players whose problems have been evident is struggling Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean signed from Arsenal back in January 2018, but has had little-to-no impact whatsoever. This term, United’s #7 finds himself out on loan with Inter Milan.

Many thought that’d mean curtains for his Reds career, however, that may not be the case. According to the Daily Star in an exclusive, United are set to give the 31-year-old another chance to prove himself at Old Trafford next season – when his Inter Milan loan expires in June.

The winger will now go on pre-season tour with United over the summer, with a view of integrating Sanchez back into the first-team mix.

It’s easy to forget that Sanchez is still being paid in excess of £300,000-a-week by United to play for Inter Milan. Personally, this smacks of their hand being forced. Who in their right mind would take up those wages on a long-term deal? Hence why the Reds are out of options. Again, they’ve made this rod for their own back.

Once more, it highlights how poorly United are being run at the moment. This club needs a serious shake-up from top to bottom, though that doesn’t look like happening anytime soon.

Then you have to factor in Sanchez’s injury history. It has hardly been great and the Chilean isn’t getting any younger. Does anyone really think this man can make a difference next season? For me, I’m wholly against it.
