Man United are set to firm up their interest in Eduardo Camavinga with an official bid.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t messing around this summer. Manchester United Football Club are acting like a side who believes they’re just a few major pieces away from competing.
The Jadon Sancho deal is done, with the Baby Faced Assassin now looking to make moves in other areas. Midfield is being eyed as a position in the team that can be upgraded, with Eduardo Camavinga being identified as a potential addition.
Le Parisien, with the translation coming via Sport Witness, have an update for us. They state that United are ready to make a ‘first offer’ for the talented star in the next few days. Apparently, talks with Camavinga’s ‘entourage’ have been constant.
Le Parisien explains that United are the club ‘most insistent’ on signing Camavinga, with the offer expected to be around the £25million mark due to the Frenchman’s winding down contract.
Camavinga’s current club, Rennes, know that ‘he will not renew his contract beyond 2022′, meaning they have to cash in now despite a disappointment that they’re going to get way below market value in terms of transfer fee.
United could be onto a real winner here if they can somehow get this deal over the line. Camavinga is amongst the finest talents in the world and he’s someone who can make a serious impact over many years if some sort of transfer agreement can be reached.
Whether or not Camavinga can slot right into the starting line-up from day one remains to be seen. But do United need that? Probably not, particularly if Paul Pogba is intent on sticking around for another year…
