Man United to make late decision on Pogba availability vs Boro: report

Man United will make a late decision in regards to whether Paul Pogba will feature vs Middlesbrough tomorrow night.

Three-and-a-half months. That’s how long Manchester United have been unable to call upon Paul Pogba.

Since the Frenchman last played, plenty has changed. A new manager is at the helm while the squad looks extremely different. Pogba himself is out of contract this summer. This could well be his final few months at Old Trafford.

Obviously, the World Cup winner wants to go out with a bang and on a high. That’d greatly benefit him as he looks to earn himself a massive contract either in Manchester or elsewhere for the 2022/23 season and beyond.

Well, Pogba was spotted back in first-team training earlier this week.

Now, it’s being reported that United will make a ‘late decision’ on whether the key star is fit enough to play some part vs Middlesbrough tomorrow night.

The claim comes from the Daily Mail, who state that Pogba is ‘very close’ to being ruled fit enough to make his return to the football field.

With Donny van de Beek departing for Everton on loan, Pogba’s return couldn’t have been any more timely. The Frenchman definitely brings quality to an area of the field where United need it – and if he can find that consistency, I truly believe we can end this campaign extremely strongly.

Obviously, we have to be a little bit patient with Pogba as he’s barely played recently. It’ll take him at least a few weeks to get fully up to speed. It’ll also be intriguing to see how the manager utilises the 28-year-old.

Either way, it’s good to hear that he’ll be back on the pitch pretty soon.
