Man United will receive a healthy figure for Hannibal, upon his move to Burnley this summer.

Manchester United Football Club have not only been trying to acquire new signings this summer, they’re also looking to trim down the squad and raise some extra funds via player sales.

This week, Hannibal was the latest casualty. The midfielder has headed to Burnley on a permanent transfer, as he looks to play regular football for the Championship promotion hopefuls.

The midfielder cost United around £8m from AS Monaco a few years ago and now journalist Rich Fay has shared his information on the structure of Hannibal’s Burnley switch.

He believes that United could receive as much as £9.4m for Hannibal, with a £5.4m fixed fee already paid to the Old Trafford side.

United have included a 50% sell-on clause in the starlet’s contract, while there’s also a buyback clause and the opportunity to match any bids for a future sale.

Check out Rich Fay’s X post on the news here:

This tells us that United genuinely believes Hannibal has a real chance of making it to the top. Otherwise, they wouldn’t include such clauses, particularly the buyback one.

Hannibal has largely flattered to deceive at Old Trafford, despite playing with bags of energy and hunger. His end product was often lacking, while he has always looked a little too hot-headed and overeager at times.

Perhaps this move to Burnley will allow Hannibal to play regularly and eradicate those flaws from his game. I truly hope that’s the case as this young man is a likable footballer.
