Man United to reignite interest in Eriksen when January transfer window opens: report

Just a few days ago, we covered a story from Goal which stated that Manchester United were considering moving in for Christian Eriksen when January rolls around.

Well, it seems as though that story was true. Last night, The Metro claimed that the Reds are to do just that, with United to reignite interest in the classy 27-year-old during the mid-season transfer window.

Despite failing with a late-summer move for the Dane, United believe they now stand a better chance at signing Eriksen in just a few months time, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on adding some creativity to a struggling Reds midfield.

The player himself actually wants to leave White Hart Lane, with Real Madrid his preferred destination – though that move failed to materialise and now Eriksen has a decision to make.

Personally, I feel as though United’s last chance at signing Eriksen comes in January. If he becomes a free agent next summer, I figure that a move to Old Trafford will probably be fairly low down on his list of possibilities.

However, if United put in a tempting offer to Spurs, an offer that nobody else can match, Eriksen’s hand could well be forced. I’d like to see the Dane in Reds colours, though I think Edward Woodward faces an uphill battle to lure him to Manchester.
