Man United told to expect a De Ligt decision in the coming days: report

It seems as though Manchester United aren’t giving up their Matthijs de Ligt chase.

The superstar 19-year-old has risen to fame over the last twelve months, putting in some stellar performances that have been particularly impressive for one so young.

With a lack of Champions League football on the table, it always felt like FC Barcelona were leading the charge to sign De Ligt, although the latest update from The Telegraph is a pretty positive one for Red Devils fans…

They say that United have been told to expect a decision from the Ajax defender in the ‘coming days’ with the Reds remaining hopeful that they can beat Barca in the race to sign the sought-after defender.

Furthermore, The Telegraph states that there is a view in Holland that a move to United is the better option for De Ligt – as a move to England would make the player a more ‘complete’ defender.

Sources close to De Ligt are claiming that the rebuilding project intrigues the player – similarly how he helped Ajax through their rejuvenation period over the last few seasons.

Now, I’m trying not to get excited but it’s just so hard. This boy is going to be special. He’s someone you can build a team around, and if United have any chance whatsoever at acquiring his signature then they must go all out to try and get him.
