Everyone knew that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was taking a huge Manchester United gamble when the Baby Faced Assassin made the decision to think out the squad.
Well, just over a month into the season, it seems as though the Baby Faced Assassin is already being bitten for those mistakes. Anthony Martial is sidelined, Marcus Rashford has now followed suit. The onus to score goals is firmly on Mason Greenwood’s shoulders… until January at least.
According to the Daily Mail, United are now tracking 23-year-old forward Moussa Dembele, as the Old Trafford outfit bid to fix their ‘striking crisis’ in January and potentially making their move for the Frenchman.
Furthermore, the Mail state that United had scouts at Lyons’s game against Brest, where Dembele scored. The Reds also had representatives at Lyon’s fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.
United apparently ‘kept track’ of Dembele’s career during his time at both Fulham and Celtic, and they did consider making their move for him in the summer but prioritised other positions.
They do hold a hope that Dembele could adapt quickly should he join in January, though, as he already has ‘significant playing experience’ in England.
Dembele has scored goals wherever he has been. The Frenchman’s time in Lyon has been the most prolific in his young career, and perhaps he is now ready for that step up to the Premier League.
I’d certainly welcome him in with open arms, though he certainly won’t come cheap…
