A trio of Man United players have been named in the BBC Team of the Season for 2020/21.
Manchester United’s Premier League season is done. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils ended the campaign as best of the rest. To us here at Old Trafford Faithful, that signals improvement.
Obviously, there’s still much work ahead, though this United squad has some talented players. Solskjaer has built a spine of a team that is capable of carrying this squad to major honours with a few more tweaks.
For their performances, a trio of United stars have been named in the BBC’s Team of the Season for 2021. They all richly deserve their places in the side, too.

Any side needs a solid defensive base. For United, their key centre-half is Harry Maguire. The club captain hadn’t missed a minute of Premier League action for the Old Trafford club until suffering an injury that could well keep him out of the Europa League final.
Maguire’s presence in the dressing room and out on the field is huge. Without him, this side isn’t anywhere near as solid defensively.
Next up we have Edinson Cavani. Now I love El Matador as much as the next Red Devil. However, he’s only started thirteen league games for us this term so I’m not quite sure how he forced his way into this side but I’m not complaining.
His influence, goals, leadership and ability to be that target man is a huge reason why we finished this campaign out strong.
Then you have the best player in the Premier League; Bruno Fernandes. He has been the catalyst for our success over the last eighteen months. His goal and assist numbers stack up with the best in the world and it’s no coincidence we’ve been on a gradual incline ever since he arrived at the club.
Now, it’s about Bruno finishing this season with a deserved trophy under his belt. You can bet your bottom dollar he’ll be giving absolutely everything he has to ensure that happens on Wednesday.
Well played, lads!
