Manchester United Football Club is a team on the rise. Credit goes to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for that.
The Red Devils kept moving in the right direction this weekend, thanks to an excellent 3-0 victory at home to Watford FC. In the past, it has been these games where United have failed to capitalise on dropped points around them and close the gap. Not this time, though.
Anyway, in the immediate aftermath, we were so busy praising our heroes that we forgot to cover the Team of the Week. I guess with United playing on Sunday, then there was a Monday Night Football game, it just slipped through the net.
For their efforts against Watford, no fewer than three United players were named in Garth Crooks’ latest BBC Team of the Week – and it’s great to see all these lads getting the praise.

Let’s start from the back. Harry Maguire has improved week-on-week since being handed the captain’s armband, and keeping Troy Deeney quiet for a full 90 is easier said than done. Slabhead won headers, tackles, made interceptions and key blocks. He led by example.
Then you have man-of-the-moment Bruno Fernandes. The mega-talented Portuguese picked up a goal and an assist in this one, while remaining a constant thorn in Watford’s side. He has settled brilliantly to life in England.
Finally, Anthony Martial is included. His goal was just outrageous, as he scored in back-to-back-to-back games (all competitions) for the first time this season. If he can work on that consistency, then there’s every chance the former AS Monaco man can still become one of the best in the business.
Congratulations lads!
