Three Manchester United stars have been named in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Season.
Earlier today, we covered the BBC’s Team of the Season, during which three Manchester United players were included.
Well apparently, lightning does indeed strike twice as we’re back at it again with WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Season. Once again, a trio of United players were included – though there was one difference…
Before we get into it, I’d just like to state how encouraging it is to see United players back in these sort of teams once again. I know it doesn’t show progression in the way of trophies, but it does state that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is building a squad with some excellent individual players in it.
Check out the Team of the Season in full here:
Harry Maguire is included as the highest-rated centre-back with a 7.04 rating. The United captain has been the model of consistency ever since walking through the Old Trafford doors. He deserves massive credit for that.
Bruno Fernandes was always going to be included in this team after a stunning campaign. He’s the frontrunner to be named PFA Player of the Year and rightly so, too. A 7.43 score is fourth-best on the season, behind Harry Kane, Kevin de Bruyne and Jack Grealish.
Finally, we have Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Spider has developed his game over the last twelve months, particularly in an attacking capacity. His 7.15 rating definitely backs that up, with the former Crystal Palace man seen as the best right-back in the country using WhoScored’s statistical system.
This is a massive confidence booster for these three guys, who have all had brilliant individual seasons. Let’s hope they can cap off a top campaign with a trophy on Wednesday!
