Football has returned, albeit in a completely different manner. It feels pretty eerie in those stadiums without fans, though this is the hand we’ve been dealt and we’ll have to settle for this for a little while longer.
The first game against Tottenham Hotspur saw United put in a rusty performance, which was understandable given the lack of playing time at that point. However, a completely different Red Devils side showed up on Wednesday night to decimate Sheffield United 3-0.
It was a truly dominant performance from the Old Trafford club, with a key United trio being named in WhoScored’s Team of the Week.
First up we have Luke Shaw, who scored 7.83 on WhoScored’s points system. The former Southampton man has really kicked it up a notch since the emergence of Brandon Williams, and he didn’t put a foot wrong against The Blades.
Moving on to the midfield, Paul Pogba scored an 8.27 mark, in a game that showed the Frenchman is very much committed to playing for Manchester United. The quick-feet, skills, inch-perfect passing and marauding runs cut open Sheffield United on numerous occasions.
Anthony Martial was always going to be included, hey? He became United’s first hat-trick hero in seven seasons, scoring three superb team-goals to give United all three points. His 9.55 score was more than justified…
