Man United trying to accelerate move for Bruno Fernandes: report

Manchester United have now finalised two deals, with Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka now officially Red Devils.

With the tour squad jetting out to Australia on July 7th, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is seemingly intent on pushing more deals through.

One name that just won’t go away is that of Bruno Fernandes. Today, we cover a story from Portuguese media outlet Record, translated wonderfully by Sport Witness, who provide us with a short, yet important claim in their Sunday print edition.

They’re now claiming that United ‘have expressed their intention to accelerate’ a potential transfer for the classy 24-year-old Fernandes – who directly contributed to 50 goals in the 2018/19 campaign. Things are now expected to speed up following the Wan-Bissaka deal being pushed over the line.

Apparently, Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, has been in England, with Record stating that there could be news on the potential transfer next week.

Earlier today, we drew up a potential United XI now that Wan-Bissaka is here, and midfield is by far the weakest area – in my opinion anyway…

Paul Pogba aside, the middle of the park needs significant work, particularly as both Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini have left without being replaced (as of yet).

Nemanja Matic is ageing, who knows what we’ll get from Fred, Scott McTominay is nowhere near the finished article, while Pogba’s head could be all over the show given the doubts about his future.

Fernandes would be a solid addition and although no transfer fee is mentioned, it does seem as though United are pushing hard to get a deal done for the Portuguese midfielder.
