Manchester United legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, has today signed for Serie A side Juventus.
All the talk down the years has been about a potential return to Manchester United, but those rumours have been quashed; probably for good.
Today, respected journalist Sam Pilger has had his say on the situation, and he claims that the Red Devils were given the opportunity to bring the 33-year-old attacker home, but they turned it down.
Apparently, Jose Mourinho and company have decided to spend their funds elsewhere this summer, and personally, I feel that makes an awful lot of sense.

The idea of bringing Ronaldo back is probably better than the reality. He’s adored amongst the Theatre of Dreams terraces, that’ll never change. However, his best days are well and truly behind him, and who knows how many years he has left in him at the very top?
Premier League football is probably the most physically demanding in the world, and it would be a risk bringing him back in. Imagine if he suffers serious injury? all that money it would take to seal an Old Trafford return may as well be thrown down the drain.
With that said, good luck to him. I think the move to Juve is a genius one, and I hope it all works out well.
