Man United will not allow Christian Eriksen to leave the club this summer, with the transfer window still open in some parts of the world.

Manchester United made some important signings this summer, while also clearing some dead wood from the squad. Erik ten Hag probably made more player sales than he was expecting, which did bolster his transfer kitty significantly.

Among the names who still remain at the club, despite being linked with a move away, is Christian Eriksen. The Dane has fallen down the pecking order after the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo, the return to fitness of Mason Mount and the signing of Manuel Ugarte.

However, Football Insider believes United are now ‘unlikely’ to let the midfielder leave during the current transfer window.

The English deadline has passed, though the window does remain open in the Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium and Saudi Arabia – all of which could have been possibilities for Eriksen. However, United will now keep the ex-Ajax man at Old Trafford until at least January.

It’s thought that yet another injury to the aforementioned Mount, who is expected to miss at least five weeks of action, means United chiefs have done a U-turn on Eriksen and they’re now choosing to keep ahold of the player until the mid-season window at the earliest.

With United competing in Europe this season, it does make sense to keep Eriksen around, though I feel sorry for the 32-year-old who just wants to be playing regular football at this stage of his career.

What I do know is that Eriksen will continue to remain the consummate professional. He will work hard in training and play well whenever called upon.

Do you think Christian Eriksen will be given his fair share of minutes this season? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
