Man United urged to ‘get someone like Bissouma’ by Paul Ince

Paul Ince has urged Man United to look at signing someone like Yves Bissouma.

The powers that be at Manchester United find themselves with plenty of work to do when the summer rolls around.

Not only is a new manager needed, but a major squad overhaul. In several areas of the park, this Old Trafford side just isn’t good enough right now. That has to change, and quickly, if we’re serious about challenging for major honours anytime soon.

Perhaps the biggest problem position as things stand is midfield. That situation is only going to get worse, too, with Paul Pogba looking certain to depart the club on a free in June.

Now, one pundit in the form of Paul Scholes has urged the club to ‘get someone like’ 25-year-old Premier League star Yves Bissouma, to improve their midfield.

Ince starts by laying the blame at the foot of United’s recruitment team, who he believes should be spotting these players way sooner – in order to acquire their talent earlier while saving a tonne of money in the process.

Check out what Paul Ince had to say in full here:

‘You have to look at United’s recruitment,’ he told Genting Casino.

‘They didn’t know about Bissouma, now he’s at Brighton and might cost £40m. They didn’t know about [N’Golo] Kante, now he’s at Chelsea.

‘All these players have been about but why have United not spotted them?

‘They need to get someone like Bissouma because the midfield needs to change. Fred’s not the answer, McTominay is one of those who’s a good player but would be better with someone like Bissouma next to him.’

I understand that’s it’s nigh-on impossible to bring everyone with a bit of talent to Old Trafford, but United are falling behind in terms of recruitment.

They’re getting away from their strengths, which has been signing young players and developing their talents, in favour of making big-name moves that simply haven’t worked.

Yves Bissouma is a prime example of that. We’ve been linked with a move for the Brighton man on countless occasions – and I suspect those rumours will continue until the man from Mali eventually moves on.

For what it’s worth, I genuinely believe Bissouma would be an unreal signing if United could somehow pull it off. I get there is loads of competition to acquire such a talent, but the pull of a move to Old Trafford surely has to mean something still?

In this case, I fully agree with Ince. Bissouma’s Premier League experience could be vital, meaning he could slot straight into our side from day one.

Is Paul Ince right? Should United make a move for Yves Bissouma? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
