Man United have seemingly named their asking price to allow Jadon Sancho to leave this summer.
Manchester United need to sell players over the coming months, in order to generate extra funds for manager Erik ten Hag to utilise in the transfer market. It’s an area where the Reds have struggled under the Glazers. Let’s see if INEOS fare any better…
Among the names whose heads are on the chopping block is Jadon Sancho. The Englishman was involved in a major fallout with Ten Hag before the turn of the year. He’d eventually end up going back to Borussia Dortmund on loan.
Now, Sky Sports Germany, in an article details Dortmund’s transfer plans, have unveiled the Old Trafford club’s asking price for Sancho.
Apparently, United want £34m (40m euro) to allow the 24-year-old to leave permanently this summer.
Borussia Dortmund are keen on bringing Sancho back for good, though it remains to be seen whether that asking price will sway the thinking of the Bundesliga club.
The problem United have here is that the whole world knows they want rid of Sancho. The asking price, for a man who has struggled to perform at Old Trafford, feels a little high. Fair play if Sir Jim Ratcliffe can lure someone into coughing up that sort of fee, but I have my doubts.
Sancho did not set the world alight in Manchester. By all accounts, he has been pretty average for Dortmund. They’re an astute club in the transfer market. If they pay up £34m for Sancho, I’d honestly be surprised…
Sadly, in my opinion, all roads lead to another Sancho loan move next season with the Reds still paying a large chunk of his wages.
