Man United want Casemiro deal done before Saturday

Man United are trying to secure the signature of Casemiro before Saturday.

The summer has largely been spent scrambling around for signings by the Manchester United hierarchy, with the whole window having a pretty desperate feel about it.

Sadly, that’s the harsh reality the club finds itself in under the current ownership regime.

Well, with time winding down in the summer window, the Red Devils are still hunting for new players. The latest name to be linked with a potential Old Trafford switch is Real Madrid’s Casemiro.

I initially thought this one was a complete no-go, given the fact that the Brazil international currently plies his trade for Real Madrid. Why would he want to leave that situation to come and play for this dreadful United side?

Well, El Chiringuito’s Josep Pedrerol (via Sport Witness) thinks otherwise. Apparently, he believes United have a good chance at acquiring the Brazilian.

So-much-so that he’s putting a timeframe on it, with United trying to get the signing done before Saturday. He also adds that there’s a five-year deal on the table, with Casemiro being offered the chance to double his current wages if he makes a move to Manchester.

Aged 30, this could be the one final huge payday that Casemiro could be offered, hence why he’s got to at least consider the move. Pedrerol actually believes the player could go as far as asking Real Madrid to let him leave.

There’s no doubt in my mind that this would be an astute piece of business if the club could pull it off. Casemiro would immediately become the best midfielder at the club, though the way United tend to move so slowly in the market, I’d be supremely impressed if this deal is done before the weekend.

Do you think Casemiro will be signed by Man United this summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
