Manchester United are keen on signing Welsh superstar Gareth Bale this summer.
However, the price for the 28-year-old has gone through the roof, with Real Madrid now demanding £200million to let him go. That’s according to ESPN, with their report adding that the colossal inflation in transfer fee is down to his stunning Champions League performance.
Bale was absolutely outstanding against Liverpool – scoring two goals from off the substitutes bench, including a sublime overhead-kick that’ll forever be remembered.
He hasn’t started week-in-week-out for Real Madrid this season, though, and he could well be tempted to move elsewhere in order to get that regular playing time.
I think any club would grasp at the chance to sign Bale, whatever the transfer fee. There is one big concern about his injury history though, and I must admit, that’d worry me hugely
One thing is for certain, United are desperate for an elite right-winger. Be it Bale, Willian or Riyad Mahrez, it’s an area that manager Jose Mourinho has to look to prioritise this summer. In a World Cup year, it’s not going to be easy but I’ll back the self-proclaimed Special One to get the business done.
