Man United want to sign Joao Felix, have met with player’s entourage

Man United are looking to acquire Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s start to life at Manchester United has been pretty disastrous. We have to be honest. Three players signed just isn’t close to enough given the current situation.

Links to different players are appearing almost by the hour right now, while keeping up with the transfer rumours is proving pretty tough!

A new name has been thrown into the mix today, with the scoop coming from Marca. They reckon United are looking to bring Joao Felix to Old Trafford.

Right now, there’s a real connection between United and Atleti players. Matheus Cunha, Alvaro Morata and now Felix.

Apparently, United want to sign the 22-year-old forward, with club representatives meeting with the player’s entourage on Tuesday. Those meetings took place at both the Wanda Metropolitano and at a Madrid hotel.

As you can understand, Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone do not want to get rid of their franchise player at this point in time, with the Portugal international impressing for the La Liga club in recent times.

There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that if Felix was signed, he’d be amongst the first names on the team sheet. His versatility, skill and immense talent would make him a Ten Hag favourite from day one.

However, I have serious doubts about whether this could actually happen. Would Felix really want this move at this stage in his career? We have to be honest with ourselves, this would be a backward step for the player. The only way I see this move happening is if United break the bank and try to tempt Felix in by offering him insane wages.

Even then, I still struggle to see this move taking place…
