Man United weighing up January move for 18-year-old wonderkid: report

Manchester United have added 18-year-old Justin Kluivert to their January shopping list, according to Yahoo Sports.

Apparently, the Ajax forward has been included on a list, including the likes of Thomas Lemar (AS Monaco) and Christian Pulisic (Borrusia Dortmund). With Jose Mourinho clearly keen on adding some extra firepower to the squad in the mid-season window.

Kluivert is the son of legendary Dutchman Patrick, and he’s begun making a name for himself at Holland’s biggest club; Ajax. With just one-and-a-half-years left on his current deal, the Red Devils are keen on signing the forward in a cut-price deal.

The report says that Mourinho has been a long-standing admirer of the youngsters, hence why the boss is weighing up a move for him at this point.

As always, though, January is an extremely difficult window to buy players in, and you’d imagine that Ajax will want to keep hold of one of their hottest stars.

When buying young players from abroad, you never really know what you’re going to get. I always throw the comparison between Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay, with the latter coming in with a much larger reputation, yet failing drastically whereas the former has been stunning since moving to Old Trafford.
