Manchester United need a busy summer, in terms of both incoming and outgoing transfers. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to be backed, and heavily.
The 2018/19 campaign hasn’t even ended yet and it seems we’re being linked with a new name daily. Today’s latest comes from French media outlet L’Equipe (via Sport Witness).
As you can see from the image below, they’re claiming that United are amongst a number of clubs interested in signing World Cup winner Adrien Rabiot – on a free transfer no less, due to an expiring contract.

To further add to that, L’Equipe go as far as saying that United have, in the past, ‘paid attention’ to Rabiot as a potential replacement for his fellow countryman, Paul Pogba.
United’s mercurial Frenchman has endured yet another mixed season at Old Trafford, and with the lack of Champions League football on offer, I wouldn’t be wholly surprised if he pushed for an exit this summer.
It goes without saying that Rabiot isn’t close to Pogba in terms of ability but at this stage, United are desperate for players who actually want to pull on their jersey rather than going for the stellar name. As Liverpool have shown over the last couple of years, that’s a strategy that can work wonderfully well.
Rabiot would be an astute signing. Aged 24, he’d come in and improve our squad from day one due to his mobility, movement and passing range. He’s also a hard-worker on both sides of the ball. Why not take the gamble? Particularly on a free.
