Manchester United will allow David de Gea to sign for Real Madrid; but only if they can agree a deal for their number one replacement.
That’s according to Diario Gol, per Sportskeeda, they say that Jan Oblak is the man Jose Mourinho has identified.
The De Gea/Madrid saga is going to rumble on every summer until the inevitable happens. Our Spaniard is constantly linked with a move to Los Blancos, and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.
Obviously, in an ideal world, the 27-year-old will spend the remainder of his professional career as a Red Devil, but I’m not sure how likely that is.
In terms of a replacement, United could do a whole lot worse than Oblak. The 25-year-old Slovenian has emerged as a truly world-class shot-stopper in his own right, but no doubt he’d cost a pretty penny if Mourinho does indeed want to bring him in.
Don’t be surprised if these rumours rumble on for another summer; particularly following the end of Spain’s World Cup campaign. Who knows what’ll happen, but at this point in time, I’m backing De Gea to still be wearing United colours come September…
