Man United will ‘consider’ offers for Scott McTominay amid interest from top European side

Man United are not actively looking to sell Scott McTominay, though they will listen to offers for the midfielder.

Manchester United have made four key signings, which was perhaps somewhat unexpected given the fact that the Red Devils were said to be working on a shoe-string budget.

You’d imagine that any further incoming signings are fully reliant on player sales first, as Erik ten Hag continues to mould this squad into one that better fits his image and style of play.

One man whose future remains up in the air is Scott McTominay. The Scotland international scored 10 goals for the 20-time Premier League champions last season, though he remains a fringe player rather than a guaranteed starter.

ESPN have provided an interesting update on McTominay’s future, amid Napoli reaching out and making contact with the Reds over the potential signing of the midfielder.

It’s stated that United will now ‘consider’ offers for the reliable first-teamer this summer. However, the Old Trafford side are not actively looking to move on from McTominay during the current transfer window.

In the event that McTominay was to move on, United would be looking for a permanent deal rather than a loan, for a fee worth around £25-30m.

McTominay himself is said to be ‘well aware’ of the interest in him from Napoli, while both Galatasaray and Fulham are said to be keen. It certainly looks like the midfielder will have plenty of choice if he does choose to move away from Salford Quays.

United boss Erik ten Hag has publicly stated he’d like McTominay to stay, however, given the club’s financial position, a ‘realistic offer’ would be given ‘serious consideration’ by the Dutchman.

I’d personally be fine with either outcome. I don’t think you can win league titles with McTominay being a major contributor, but as a squad player, he can offer reliability.
