Man United will not be moving for superstar 29-year-old this summer: report

Manchester United’s overall outlook feels far brighter with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge; although there is still much work to be done.

Whoever the next permanent manager is, they need heavy backing in the summer transfer market.

However, one player the Red Devils will not be moving for is Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale. ESPN state that if the superstar 29-year-old is made available by Los Blancos, United will pass up the opportunity to sign him.

Apparently, the Welshman is facing an uncertain future in the Spanish capital with Zinedine Zidane back at the helm, but it seems as though United’s interest lie elsewhere.

There’s no doubting that a fully fit, in-form, Bale would significantly improve United’s changes at winning trophies. However, his fitness just cannot be relied upon.

It’s a real shame because Bale is amongst the best in the business and in terms of big-game performances, he has plenty of those.

Sure, he wouldn’t come cheap, but there’s no doubting that United could afford him if they wanted to. It feels as though the club are going about this smartly, though, particularly after what happened with Alexis Sanchez; who looks a shadow of the player he once was.
