Man United are set to make another push to tie Alejandro Garnacho down to a new contract.

Manchester United Football Club are moving in a fresh direction under Erik ten Hag, with new players coming to the fore.

One man who would have undoubtedly shined under any manager is Alejandro Garnacho. The young Argentine is looking like the next big thing to come out of the United academy – putting in some superb performances before the international break.

Talks about a new contract for Garnacho have been pretty frequent. As of yet, no deal has been agreed upon. Thankfully, the young man’s current deal runs until 2025.

According to Fabrizio Romano, though, United ‘will push again’ to extend the contract of the emerging star, with talks currently ongoing according to the Italian journalist.

Romano also adds that new deals will soon be discussed with both Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford.

Check out Fabrizio Romano‘s tweet on the Garnacho contract news here:

My concern about Garnacho is that he’s already thinking about a next career move. The lure of moving back to Madrid, this time with Real, feels like a genuine possibility at this early stage in his career.

For United, it could be more about protecting their asset rather than tying Garnacho down to a new, longer-term contract. Giving him more money in terms of weekly wages immediately bumps up the potential future transfer fee.

Obviously, in an ideal world, Garnacho commits to a fresh contract, while fully buying into the Ten Hag project here in Manchester. This club has given him major opportunities so early on in his career. It’d be nice if that faith is repaid.
