Manchester United will cash in on Paul Pogba this summer if he doesn’t commit to fresh terms.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United are in with a great chance at winning silverware this season, while our Premier League progress is there for all to see.
Our improvement is down to Solskjaer’s belief in this playing squad. You look at the difference in dressing room happiness under the current regime and now. Old Trafford is in a much healthier place.
Perhaps the most prominent figure who is enjoying his football far more these days is Paul Pogba. As we all know, the Frenchman had a pretty famous run-in with Jose Mourinho and since then, the World Cup winner has played his football with a point to prove.
However, his time in Manchester could be winding down. According to The Sun on Sunday, United are ready to sell the world-class first-teamer this summer – if he doesn’t commit to a new deal.
At this point, United are confident of tying Pogba down to fresh terms, though they better hurry, with the Frenchman having just twelve months left on his current deal and Juventus looking to sign him on a free in 2022.
Here’s where it gets concerning. Pogba apparently wants a massive £500k-a-week to remain at the Theatre of Dreams. Though it’s stated the Reds ‘won’t be held to ransom’ by Mino Raiola and their midfielder.
Honestly, I honestly never thought we’d see Pogba at his best at United, though over the last six months, he has been brilliant. Whether that’s him playing for a move, or him just enjoying his football again remains to be seen.
If there was any guarantee we’d get this Pogba for the next few years I’d be more than happy to see his deal renewed, but no player should be able to hold this club at gunpoint in order to get more money. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how this one plays out, that’s for sure…
