Man United will sell Paul Pogba this summer: report

Manchester United are to sell Paul Pogba this summer.

Paul Pogba’s time at Manchester United has been a weird one. The Frenchman has shown flashes of brilliance, though on the whole, I think we’re entitled to feel disappointed with his output.

From constantly flirting with Real Madrid, to leaking stuff to the press via his snake of an agent, Pogba’s patience amongst United fans was understandably starting to wear thin.

I’ll be the first to admit that it has been nice watching Pogba in full flow. Recently, he’s been in far better form, though I’d suspect that’s due to him looking to attract potential buyers ahead of a huge summer window for the Old Trafford outfit.

Well, it looks as though Pogba is about to get his wish. According to the Sunday Mirror, United are set to sell the 27-year-old star this summer, after accepting that the midfielder will not be signing a new contract.

Pogba’s current deal expires in 2022, with United recently activating a one-year extension clause within the Frenchman’s contract in order to protect his transfer value.

However, failure to sell him this summer would mean that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would risk losing Pogba on a free transfer at the end of the 2021/22 term. Simply put, United’s hand has been forced.

My stance on Pogba hasn’t changed. A handful of good games is too little too late as far as I’m concerned. If he doesn’t want to be here, sell him.

United are building something great at the moment. Let’s focus on the players that want to be here, that wear that badge with pride. Fair enough, if Pogba contributes to a major trophy win this season then he’ll always have our respect – but not our hearts.
