Man United are looking to make a move to sign Juventus’ Gleison Bremer.
Manchester United are in a tricky predicament going into the summer. Obviously, money will have to be spent by the Old Trafford side, though with FFP restrictions now looking tighter than ever, it’s up to Erik ten Hag to spend his money wisely.
Several names are already being linked with a possible Reds switch at this stage, with many more names to follow no doubt.
We’re providing the latest from Football Insider, who link the 20-time Premier League champions with a possible move to acquire Gleison Bremer.
According to the claim, United are ‘working on a deal’ to sign the 26-year-old defender, though here’s where it gets interesting, it could pave the way for a Casemiro exit.
Bremer would cost around £60m to sign this summer, with United having already made an enquiry about bringing in the man from Brazil.
However, well placed sources have told FI that United will have to sell players before they can buy, with Casemiro viewed as someone who could be sacrificed. The ex-Real Madrid man has made 13 appearances this season, amid injury woes.
Bremer, on the other hand, has started all 22 of their league games this term, regarded as a ‘dream signing’ by United given his calibre, pedigree and experience.
There can be no doubt that Ten Hag is still searching for his perfect partner for Lisandro Martinez. Perhaps Bremer is that man, though that’s an awful lot of money to spend, particularly when funds could be tight.
It’s absolutely a move I would make, though I’d also like to see either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof leave, in order to free up the spaces in the centre-back position.
