Man United working on new Alejandro Garnacho contract

Man United are already hard at work on a new contract for Alejandro Garnacho.

Earlier this week, there were whispers suggesting that Juventus were hoping to snatch Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, Paul Pogba style.

Shortly after that, there were claims from this country stating that United felt confident they would agree to new terms with Garnacho following his rise to prominence.

Well, we’ve now been given more details in that regard and it comes from Fabrizio Romano. He’s claimed that talks are already underway between United and Garnacho, confirming that the Reds are ‘working on’ a new contract.

The hope is that Garnacho will sign a five-year deal at some point this year, committing his future to the Old Trafford club until at least 2027.

There is no indication yet that Garnacho will willingly sign such a long-term contract, though after United have placed great faith in the youngster, you’d hope that a deal can be reached in the not too distant future.

Garnacho has been spectacular to watch over the last few months. From earning his place in the senior Argentina squad, to making his United debut, while winning the FA Youth Cup. The Argentine has been making his mark.

This just feels like the next logical step for the Old Trafford club. They want Garnacho to commit his future, before deciding on what to do next with Garnacho.

No doubt Erik ten Hag will take a close look at the winger during pre-season tour, before deciding whether he’s good enough to play his part within the first-team squad.

There’s also the option of Garnacho potentially leaving on loan in order to further his career with regular playing time. At this stage, I’d be more than happy with that, particularly after watching how well it has worked for James Garner this year.
